By using SHIZUAN (“the site”) you agree to the terms below.
1. What the site shows
- Figures and levels on the site are relative comparisons calculated by the site from public statistics. They do not guarantee the safety of any place, building or person, and they are not a judgment of any neighborhood.
- Reported incidents are cases known to the police. They differ from the number of events that actually occur and from how a place feels. Estimated quietness is derived from public data and is not measured noise.
- Decisions about where to stay, rent or buy are your own. Visit the area and check with the hotel, landlord, agent or other professionals before you commit.
2. Accuracy
We try to process the source data correctly, but errors in the original data, the limits of matching town names, and the time between releases can make what you see differ from reality. Except in cases of intent or gross negligence on the site's part, the site is not liable for any loss caused by errors or omissions.
3. Sources and licenses
- The map and data were processed and compiled by the site from public data published by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, the Statistics Bureau of Japan, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan and OpenStreetMap contributors. None of these organizations produced this map. Full attribution is on the Data & methods page.
- The quietness component file (quiet-derived.csv) contains OpenStreetMap data and is provided under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0.
- Text and page design created by the site belong to the site; map imagery that includes GSI Tiles or other sources remains subject to those sources' terms. You are welcome to share neighborhood card images and links as long as the source credits stay visible.
4. Please do not
- present the site's output as if it were produced or endorsed by the national government, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the police or any other public body;
- use the site's output to disparage a neighborhood or the people and businesses in it;
- send automated requests in volumes that put a heavy load on the servers.
5. Outside links
The site is not responsible for the content or services of sites you reach through its links.
6. Changes and governing law
The site may change or end these terms or the service without notice. These terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
